Revolving around the songwriting skills of Matthew Wiles, The Way Out were formed in 1984 as a fusion of psychedelia and Mod, with help from Matthew's brother Adam (bass) and Mark Turner (drums). They signed to Peterborough (United Kingdom) label, Flux, for their débit single, 'Time Moves Us On', which was evocative of The Jam (circa 'Sound Affects'. They also contributed 'Just The Girl' to the label sampler LP, 'Flux'. The Way Out also released a power pop single, 'This Working Way'/'Just The Girl'. Read more on
